Texas standout Eureste signs with Saints

Moberly, Mo.

Central Christian College of the Bible head women's basketball coach Reggie Chapple announced an addition to his recruiting class for the second day in-a-row on Wednesday with the signing of Crystal Eureste for the 2017-18 season. Eureste is the third member of the Saints' 2017 class.

Eureste, a 5-5 point guard, is a 2017 graduate of James Pace High School in Brownsville, Texas. A three-year letterman and two-year starter for the Vikings, she averaged 6.4 points and 3.1 steals per game this past season.

Eureste's forte is on the defensive end as she was named the Brownsville Herald's All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year after earning all-defensive team honors for District 32-5A. The Vikings won at least 20 games each of the last two seasons, going 20-16 in 2016-17 and advancing to the second round of the Class 5A Region 4 playoffs.

"Crystal will be an excellent addition to our program," Chapple said. "Being named the top defensive player in her area is a huge accomplishment. It takes hard work to receive an honor such as that and I know she will continue to work as she suits up for our program in the fall. I am Looking forward to helping her continue to grow both on and off the court."

While at CCCB, Eureste plans to pursue a Bachelor of Religious Studies and a dual enrollment degree from a partner institution.

Eureste joins Hunter Salmons of Madison, Mo., and Damia Covington of Hayti, Mo., as members of the Saints' 2017 recruiting class.
