James comes through in the clutch to lead Saints to victory on Senior Day

Moberly, Mo.

For the second straight year, a Saint playing in his final regular season home game emerged on Senior Day to become the hero in thrilling fashion.

Quincy James, Jr., scored a team-high 26 points and made three pivotal plays with the game on the line that sealed an 83-82 win for Central Christian College of the Bible over Emmaus University on Saturday at the Ferneau Center.

Following a made 3-pointer by Gage Johnson that tied the game at 82-apiece with 23.7 seconds remaining, James jumped a pass for a steal and was fouled on the other end with 7.2 seconds left. He made the second of two free throws to put Central Christian up one, then stopped Emmaus' Taydem Arguello, who scored a game-high 40 points, on the final play to secure the victory.

Seniors Chris Woods and Tristan Brand also made their final starts at home in the regular season. Brand chipped in with three made 3-pointers and scored 11, while Woods grabbed four rebounds and had two assists.

The win gave the Saints a split of games in their final home weekend of the regular season. On Friday, they fell, 78-69, to Faith Baptist Bible College.
