Saints sign Gheen from Mountain View Christian (Va.)

Moberly, Mo.

Central Christian College of the Bible head men's basketball coach Jack Defreitas on Monday announced the signing of Chandler Gheen for the 2017-18 season. Gheen is the 10th member of the Saints' 2017 class.

Gheen, a 6-3 small forward, is a 2017 graduate of Mountain View Christian Academy in Winchester, Va., the same high school as Saints newcomer Wayne Allsberry.

A two-year leterman at Mountain View, Gheen averaged 7.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as a senior for the Conquerors, who went 25-9 with a fourth-place finish in the 4A Division of the National Christian School Athletic Association (NCSAA) Tournament. As a junior, Gheen was an NCSAA All-Tournament team selection.

"Chandler is going to impact our program in so many ways, on and off the court," Defreitas said. "He does a lot of things well, whether it's shooting, defending, rebounding or posting up. He's also a young man with high character who works hard at everything he does. I'm thrilled to have him with us."

While at CCCB, Gheen plans to pursue a Bachelor of Religious Studies and a dual enrollment degree from a partner institution.

Gheen joins Jacob Case of McComb, Ohio, Micah Miller of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Alex Gibler of Madison, Mo., Kedron Rollings of Hayti, Mo., Wayne Alsberry of Stephens City, Va., Roy Patterson of McComb, Miss., Josh Crawford of St. Louis, Mo., Jesse Granados of Edcouch, Texas, and Jaime Rodriguez of Mercedes, Texas, as members of the Saints' 2017 recruiting class.
