Saints sign former Mississippi state champion Roy Patterson

Moberly, Mo.

Central Christian College of the Bible head men's basketball coach Jack Defreitas on Thursday announced the signing of Roy Patterson for the 2017-18 season. Patterson is the sixth member of the Saints' 2017 class.

Patterson, a 6-1 guard, is a 2014 graduate of McComb High School in McComb, Miss. As a senior during the 2013-14 season, he helped McComb to a 33-1 record and the Class 4A state title. In his final year with the Tigers he averaged 5.4 points and shot 43 percent from behind the arc while coming off the bench.

"Roy is fundamentally solid, a great shooter and has good explosiveness," Defreitas said. "He was part of an outstanding team in high school, but so far it hadn't yet worked out for him to play in college. I'm excited for him to get that chance here, and to watch him grow on and off the court."

While at CCCB, Patterson plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Christian Counseling.

Patterson joins Jacob Case of McComb, Ohio, Micah Miller of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Alex Gibler of Madison, Mo., and Kedron Rollings of Hayti, Mo., and Wayne Alsberry of Stephens City, Va., as members of the Saints' 2017 recruiting class.
