Saints add another former state champion in Pressley

Moberly, Mo.

Central Christian College of the Bible head men's basketball coach Jack Defreitas on Wednesday announced the signing of Brandon Pressley for the 2017-18 season. Pressley is the 11th member of the Saints' 2017 class.

Pressley, a 6-6 forward from Stephens City, Va., will transfer to Central Christian after a playing his junior season at Belhaven University, an NCAA D3 program in Jackson, Miss. At Belhaven, Pressley led the team in scoring, field goal percentage and rebounding. He averaged 15.0 points per game, shot 62 percent from the field and grabbed 8.5 rebounds per contest while also garnering NCCAA Division I All-Region honors.

Prior to attending Belhaven, Pressley played the previous two seasons at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va., where he averaged 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds as a sophomore. In high school, Pressley attended Mountain View Christian Academy in Winchester, the same program as fellow 2017 signees Wayne Alsberry and Chandler Gheen.

At Mountain View, Pressley averaged 21.7 points and 16.3 rebounds per game as a senior, helping the Conquerors to a 34-9 record in 2013. He left high school as a three-time Virginia Association of Christian Athletics state champion and a two-time National Association of Christian Athletes All-American. His 931 points scored as a senior are the fourth-best among Virginia high schoolers in a single season.

"Brandon is an absolute huge addition to our program," Defreitas said. "He has great athleticism and strength to score and rebound around the basket, but he also provides our group with experience and leadership. We are fortunate to add a player of his caliber and experience. I am extremely excited about the team we've assembled this offseason and anxious to get started this fall."

While at CCCB, Pressley plans to pursue a Bachelor of Religious Studies and a dual enrollment degree from a partner institution.

Pressley joins Jacob Case of McComb, Ohio, Micah Miller of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Alex Gibler of Madison, Mo., Kedron Rollings of Hayti, Mo., Wayne Alsberry of Stephens City, Va., Roy Patterson of McComb, Miss., Josh Crawford of St. Louis, Mo., Jesse Granados of Edcouch, Texas, Jaime Rodriguez of Mercedes, Texas, and Chandler Gheen of Maurertown, Va., as members of the Saints' 2017 recruiting class.
