Madison's Alex Gibler signs with Saints

Moberly, Mo.

Central Christian College of the Bible head men's basketball coach Jack Defreitas on Thursday announced the signing of Alex Gibler for the 2017-18 season. Gibler is the third member of the Saints' 2017 class.

Gibler, a 6-4 forward, will graduate in May from Madison High School in Madison, Mo. The four-year letterman and two-year starter for the Panthers averaged 11 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior.

Gibler missed half of his junior season due to an ankle injury and the Panthers finished just 2-24 overall. This past season they improved to 9-16 with Gibler as the team's second-leading scorer. This year he earned all-Central Activities Conference honorable mention honors and was a Class 1 all-District 10 selection.

"Alex will come in already having a few connections to the college community due to current students that serve in his church," Defreitas said. "He is a really good fit on and off the court, and he absolutely loves the game of basketball. I think he has a lot of potential due to his length and touch around the basket. His best days as a basketball player are ahead of him and I'm excited to help him grow on and off the court."

While at CCCB, Gibler plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Christian Education.

Gibler joins Jacob Case of McComb, Ohio, and Micah Miller of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, as members of the Saints' 2017 recruiting class.
